After scoring six total points as a freshman; the Oxford, Michigan native leads the team in scoring this season with six goals & three assists totaling nine points. Three of his six goals have been game winners.

In last weekend’s two trò chơi sweep of Penn State University (4-0, 3-2), it was Chapie, who provided the winning tallies in each tilt.

This season, the River Hawks are 5-2-0 when the forward registers a point.

The winger, however, is quick to point out that he is not doing it alone.

“I’m playing on a good line,” Chapie said when asked the reason for his quick start. “I’ve been fortunate enough to play with some really good players và I’ve been in the right spot at the right time, I guess.”

Chapie also credits his experience in the UML program as being helpful in preparing for this season.

“Coming in as a sophomore, I’ve kind of been around things,” he said. “I know more than I did last year but nothing has really changed.”

Chapie is hoping khổng lồ continue his outstanding play this weekend when the 11th ranked River Hawks host the 6th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-3-1 overall, 2-1-1 in Hockey East) for two games. The series will mark the first time the Irish will make their way east for conference tilts this season.

Notre Dame currently resides in fourth place in Hockey East while UML is in sixth place but the two squads are separated by just one point in the standings.

Chapie is excited for this weekend’s series.

“Oh yeah, you only hear great things about Notre Dame,” the forward said. “I’ve seen a couple of their games on TV & they look like a really fast team. It should be a good competition for us, good tilts. I’m looking forward khổng lồ it.”

The schedule is announced before each season và the players look at it to find the “big” games. They bởi vì not come much bigger than hosting Notre Dame và Adam Chapie is ready for the challenge of continuing his sophomore success.
